Book Giveaway… Or Trade

Okay, it has been awhile since I’ve done one of these and so I thought I would, once again, give away some books.

Here are the books I’m offering:

1. Christian Theology (Second Edition) by Millard J. Erickson.

2. Atheist Delusions by David Bentley Hart.

3. In the Ruins of the Church by R. R. Reno.

4. From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya by Ruth A. Tucker.

5. Community That is Christian by Julie A. Gorman.

However, I’m going to change the rules a bit.  There is a book I want — Documents and Images for the Study of Paul by Elliott and Reasoner — so I’m going to also offer a trade.  Basically, it goes like this.  Anybody is eligible to receive the free books.  Anybody who expresses interest gets their names put into a hat for a random draw to determine the winner.

If, however, you have a copy of the Elliott and Reasoner book that you would be willing to trade, or if you simply want to buy me the Elliott and Reasoner book in exchange for the ones I’m offering, then only those who make this offer will have their names put into the hat.  If only one person makes the offer, then that person gets the books.  If nobody makes the offer, than everybody goes into the draw.

The draw will be held in about a week and I will notify the winner.

  1. I am interested, though I don’t have the Elliott and Reasoner book.

  2. i am also interested.
Though, I don’t have the Eliott and Reasoner book.

  3. Don’t want any of the above titles, but looked at a little differently and combining the titles, I think one could construct one great book title with a collage of these titles. “Atheist Delusions and Christian Theology in the Ruins of the Church: Community that is Christian from Jerusalem to Irian Jaya.” Anyway, if you don’t have it yet i will order up that book on Paul for you today. It’s not a gift though, someday, and that day may never come, you can work it off by answering one theological question for me. Let me know, Daniel.

    • Hi Daniel,

I am delighted to accept your offer. I’ll email you with my address (also you need my address anyway so that know where to find me when you come and visit… I really want you to come and visit).

  4. OK Dan, i ordered it, I may send it to a young friend of mine (sort of an adopted son) who recently moved to Vancouver and he can get it to you. I met him in Israel some years ago when he was just getting out of the IDF and he followed us back to whidbey. He lived around here for about a year, then travelled the word for a couple more, came back for several months and just moved to Van as a springboard to working in Europe. I miss him, he is one of the rare people who can read Aramaic, biblical Hebrew, cont. hebrew, and Arabic. He was invaluable in studying the Jerusalem Talmud. However, he is estranged from religion now and searching for the meaning of life (who isn’t?). After a lifetime of (compulsory) study in Yeshiva’s he’s on the Jewish equivalent of ‘Rumspringa.’ I will keep in touch, should have the book in a week (sorry for the wait….) blessings.

  5. While I might be up for the trip to Gaza I don’t think Ethan would sign on (his current un-orthodoxy would allow him to join you with a bowl of lobster bisque however). My email is Blessings to you on your journey.
